Philadelphia Eagles at San Francisco 49ers NFL Betting Preview

The San Francisco 49ers are now 0-4 after a heartbreaking loss at Atlanta last week in a game they led the entire way until the final seconds, while the Eagles lost both the game to Washington and quarterback Michael Vick last week, meaning they are going back to Kevin Kolb under center this week.

The bookmakers have set the NFL betting spread for this contest at San Francisco -3 at betting odds of -130, with the betting total set at 38.

Philadelphia Eagles at Jacksonville Jaguars NFL Betting Preview

The Philadelphia Eagles held on to the beat the Lions 35-32 last week after nearly blowing an 18-point fourth quarter lead, while the Jacksonville Jaguars got routed in San Diego by a Charger team that usually gets off to slow starts and did not play well opening week.

The NFL Week 3 odds list Philadelphia at -3 on the road at odds of -105, with the betting total set at 44½.

The most significant factor in this game though is that despite repeatedly stating last weekend that Kevin Kolb would start this game, Philadelphia Eagles Coach Andy Reid did a complete about-face and named Michael Vick his starting quarterback.

Philadelphia Eagles 2010-2011 Season Preview

A Look Back – Apparently, the 2009 NFL betting season just wasn’t good enough in the City of Brotherly Love. The Philadelphia Eagles had a fantastic regular season, just narrowly missing out on the NFC East title at 11-5. The offense was the best in the division, scoring 429 total points. However, an early exit from the postseason at the hands of the rival Dallas Cowboys didn’t sit well, and sweeping changes were made from the team.

How will the Eagles fare with Kevin Kolb?

With Donovan McNabb being traded from the Philadelphia Eagles to the Washington Redskins, Kevin Kolb inherits the starting role much like Aaron Rodgers did two years ago for the Green Bay Packers.

Kolb, like Rodgers in 2008, joins a team that was in the mix for the playoffs with their veteran quarterback.

The comparison looks pretty good as Kolb has solid numbers except for a throwing too many interceptions while Rodgers struggled his first season as a starter because he threw too many interceptions (13).

The Packers fell to 6-10 in the first year under Rodgers after going 13-3 while the Eagles went 11-5.

Is McNabb done with the Eagles and where does he go?

Today’s denial by St Louis Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo that they are pursuing Donovan McNabb shouldn’t do a thing to stop speculation that he’s leaving. After all, until he actually gets McNabb, the only smart thing to do is deny any rumors.

If he gets McNabb, then great. But if he fails, then he’s just destroyed his relationship with his current QBs while getting nothing back.

McNabb’s been rumored to be heading to St Louis, Minnesota, Arizona, San Francisco, Buffalo, Washington and probably everywhere else but I can’t be bothered to keep researching.

Where will Julius Peppers end up?

Julius Peppers

Julius Peppers

One more day until we find out whether Julius Peppers goes for the money or he goes for the chance to win a championship.

He already has a boatload of money from his time with the Carolina Panthers, so he doesn’t need to pursue the highest-value contract. But, you can never have enough mansions.

If he wants to go for a Super Bowl, he’s going to have to accept less money since none of the teams that play in the sort of situation that he’s looking for can afford to spend what Peppers is asking for.

Eagles Can’t Lose With QB Moves

Everyone is talking about Donovan McNabb and how Philadelphia Eagles fans seem to have had enough of him.

Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders

Personally, I think they could win the Super Bowl with McNabb if they made some moves to shore-up the defense. But Philly fans see a lot more of him and if they’ve had enough, then who am I to argue.

Whether they keep McNabb or trade him, the Eagles are in an excellent position to make some quarterback moves and get help on defense because they have between two and three starter-level quarterbacks.

Cowboy Football – Deshawn Jackson Tweet This!

On Saturday Night January 9, 2010 Cowboy Football took a major leap forward. The first playoff victory for the Dallas Cowboys since 1996. 12 years in the waiting. The Philadelphia Eagles took their second straight loss at the hands of their NFC east rivals. Much was said about Tony Romo and his inability to win a playoff game, those comments disappeared into the toasty climate that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has provided with his 1.5 billion dollar stadium for America’s team.
