The Connecticut Huskies will live and die by their running game this year. They have a veteran running back in Jordan Todman consistently gets yards, can rattle off the big play and looks after the ball. With Todman becoming the centerpiece to this offense, he should improve on last year’s already impressive 1188 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns.

Todman plays behind the best offensive line in the Big East, but that line could be challenged when injuries start to mount.

The Connecticut Huskies have a lot of depth at receiver. Most of their receivers are relatively inexperienced, but the competition should force some of the receivers to elevate above the rest give quarterback Zach Frazer plenty of quality targets.

Defense is where the biggest question marks are for this team. They are shuffling players around in the secondary trying to get the right fit. They have some athletic play-makers that could give opposing offenses a really tough time, but they need to come together as a unit or they will end up being exposed.

The Huskies look like a team that probably has the personnel to win the Big East, they just need to prove it. The problem is that they also have melt-down potential. The offense looks like they should be able to stay on the field and eat up the clock which will take pressure off of a defense that needs time and practice.

Huskies odds to win the Big East: +250.
