The Dallas Cowboys will host the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, December 23rd at 1 PM ET. The Dallas Cowboys find themselves in the thick of the NFC playoff race with an 8-6 record. However, the Cowboys will need to take care of their own business in the next two weeks while receiving a bit of help from others around the league in order to grab the sixth and final NFC playoff spot. Currently, the Dallas Cowboys are tied with the Minnesota Vikings, Chicago Bears and New York Giants for the last playoff spot but would not be in the playoff picture because of various tie breakers. A win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday would go a long way in helping the Cowboys secure the six seed.

Dallas used a late game comeback to defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers last Sunday afternoon by a final score of 27-24. Quarterback Tony Romo had one of his best games of the season against the Steelers, throwing for 341 yards and two touchdowns while not turning the ball over once. Running back DeMarco Murray carried the ball 14 times for 81 yards and scored the game tying touchdown in the fourth quarter with 6:55 left. Since Murray’s return to the lineup three weeks ago, the Dallas Cowboys have been a much improved offense as they really struggled to move the ball on the ground during his absence.
With the New Orleans Saints owning one of the worst defensive units in the NFL, Murray and Romo should have excellent games once again as the Cowboys look to extend their winning streak to four games.
The New Orleans Saints are coming off a lopsided 41-0 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Sunday. Running back Mark Ingram also had a nice game as he ran the ball 14 times for 90 yards and one touchdown. The Saints will look for another offensive explosion when they hit the road to face the Dallas Cowboys and play the role of spoiler on Sunday afternoon.
